At St Joseph's, we believe drama is where a child’s confidence truly takes flight, acting as a magical toolkit for building self-esteem, empathy, and lifelong friendships. By stepping into different characters and exploring imaginative worlds, our children learn to understand others, share their feelings, and find their unique voices. We love bringing this to life through joyful weekly drama sessions from Nursery all the way up to Year 6, designed to develop children's communication and public speaking skills (oracy).

In Nursery and Reception, these sessions are filled with playful storytelling, puppetry, and vocal games that gently encourage our littlest learners to chatter away and build their vocabulary. As the pupils progress through school, the activities progress; by Year 6, they are confidently debating in character, taking part in lively group performances, and learning how to speak passionately to any audience.
