Music curriculum progression map
Rock It Music Projects Ltd is delighted to be associated with St Joseph's Catholic Primary School.
Our schemes of work are very much performance based, with every child having the opportunity to learn to play a variety of musical instruments, from Caribbean Steel Drums, to keyboards and ukuleles.
Whilst rock and pop music play a big part in our teaching, film themes and classical music are also taught and students get the chance to compose their own pieces, as well as learning improvisation and notation. Children are encouraged to sing and are invited to lead the class using microphones and technology. Of course, music is for sharing, so we are keen to support concerts, both in school and also the wider community.
Each year a London College of Music examiner visits school and assesses the classes' performance. The qualification gained is accredited and we are proud that St Joseph's students have achieved GCSE equivalent grades over recent years. An outstanding achievement.
Throughout the school year, our team of teaching staff never lose sight of our Company motto:
Making Music - Having Fun.
