History
In History this half term, we are continuing our learning about ‘The Great Fire of London’. Children will learn about what life was like in the 17th Century. They will explore the causes of the Great Fire and create a timeline. Children will develop their historical enquiry using artefacts. They will understanding the impact on & changes in London because of the fire.
Music
This half term children will sing and provide their own accompaniment to songs. Songs from throughout the year will be re-visited and improved using instrumental accompaniment and enhanced vocal skills.
French
During this half-term the children will learn to count in French from one to twelve, recognise the written number words, ask how old someone is and answer the same question, comparing sentence structures in French and English, and practising all the vocabulary by playing counting and some traditional French games.
Computing
During this half term, our computing unit is ‘Programming Quizzes’. Children will understand that sequences of commands have an outcome and make predictions based on their learning. They will use and modify designs to create their own quiz questions in ScratchJr.
PSHE
During PSHE this half term we will be focusing on:
- British Values
- The concept of the Holy Trinity
- The story of The Good Samaritan
Different communities we are part of locally and globally
PE
In PE this half term, children will be attending swimming lessons at Darlaston swimming pool. In school, children will be doing Athletics. We will be developing recognised techniques for running, jumping and throwing to increase speed, agility and strength.
Children will need their swimming kit in school on Tuesday.
Children will need their PE kit in school on Friday.
