Year 4 had a wonderful day at Walsall Art Gallery today. They took part in a sketching workshop where they learned how to sketch a portrait and focus on light direction. They then had a talk about one of the exhibitions and used plasticine to make an animal sculpture.
Year 4 have thoroughly enjoyed their art day all about bringing stories to life through drawing. They first learnt about two illustrators - Laura Carlin and Shaun Tan - and made artist pages for each. Then they explored how to use objects to build a scene to draw. They did this as a group, agreed a story sentence and then drew their scene. This afternoon, it was time for the final project: an accordion comic strip to illustrate the poem 'On the Ning Nang Nong'. Everybody worked extremely hard on their projects and they should be very proud of their final pieces! 😊 Well done, Year 4!
Year 4 had a fantastic time at St Thomas More where they created a clay tile with their fruit design. Children drew a still life image of fruit and transferred this onto their tile. Super work Year 4!
