Mary, Mother of Jesus 🙏🏼

Today in our RE lesson, we have been learning about Mary.
We talked about Mary being the Mother of Jesus and that

we celebrate Mary in the months of May and October.

We went on a walk around school to see if we could find any statues of Mary.
We found one in the prayer garden in the big playground and we found one in the corridor.
We tried to say a little prayer and showed Mary how well we can do our prayer hands.

Well done Nursery, you walked around school so quietly and sensibly 😊

🍁 Nature art 🍁

Today, nursery went on a nature walk on the school field to collect some natural materials for our art work. We found:

🍁 Leaves

🍁 Sticks

🍁Moss/Grass

We also found some exciting things hiding amongst the trees and leaves. We found:

🍁 A birds nest high up in the trees

🍁 A slug hiding on a rock

🍁 A wiggly worm hiding in the leaves.

Some of us had a turn holding the worm. It was cold and wriggly 🪱

When we went back into class, we stuck all our natural materials on a big piece of paper with some glue. We had lots of messy fun 😁
Well done nursery!

Today in nursery, we have been learning how to stay safe around fireworks.
We now know that only adults touch fireworks and that we should keep our pets safe inside because they might get scared by the loud bangs.

To support our learning about fireworks, we made a group firework picture on the whiteboard and then we made our own paintings of fireworks using bright colours and glitter.

This activity also helped us continue with our learning of recognising colours.

We also explored different types of sea animals in the water tray outside that was filled with gellibaff. We had so much fun searching for fish and whales. We used the binoculars to search for birds.
