One Life Retreat
Today Dan and Emily from One Life Music came to give us a special retreat day. We had a lot of prayerful activities and sang some songs.
We were very excited to see Dan and Emily in our school.

Saint Joseph’s Feast Day
Today we celebrated St Joseph’s feast day in Reception by making a toolbox and choosing different tools to help us be like Saint Joseph and be like Jesus.

When the circus came to school
Today to the circus came to visit us.
We sat and watch Vegetable Stu do some fun tricks.

Friday 15th March
Farm on Wheels
What a fantastic morning Reception have had. We met some amazing animals from the farm that Stella brought to meet us. One of our favourites was Honey the kid, she was only a few weeks old and still drinking milk from her mum. We stroked them both so gently. Mrs Corfield even got to give her a big cuddle. We also got to give Marble the lamb some of his milk for breakfast and even a little walk on his lead. One of Stella's chickens laid an egg to show us just before we arrived- how exciting! We fed the chickens and then got to meet her pet rat Emile, he was very sweet and had such a long tail.

World Book Day
Children celebrated world book day by having such an exciting day filled with quizzes, games and lots of stories.
They enjoyed guessing the masked reader, going on a character hunt, making book marks and finally sharing a bedtime story with different teachers.

Maths - Patterns
To follow on from our work on pattern in maths we challenged the children to go outside and create as many different kinds of patterns as they could.
They created a human pattern, number patterns, cube patterns and even used the outdoor resources to create patterns.
Reception are maths superstars!

Reception and Nursery visit to church ⛪️
To follow on from our RE unit- Baptism, we walked to our parish church
St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Darlaston to see how Father Craig performs a baptism.
We had chance to role play a baptism with Father Craig.
We had our own priest, parents and godparents.
Everyone was so well behaved. We are so proud of the children.

Chinese New Year
We learnt about Chinese New Year and the communities that celebrate. We listened to the story about the Jade emperor and how the different animals raced across the river. We found out that Reception were either born in the year of the Pig or the Rat.
We tried some Chinese food and even had a fortune cookie.
We wrote some Chinese numbers, made and decorated fans and lanterns as well as role playing the story. What a Fab day!!
