Spring 2

In English this half term we are reading Into the Forest.

We are writing a:

• Setting description
• Instructions
• Shape poem

In History, we will be learning about different explorers and how they have changed the course of time. Explorers such as Marco Polo and Amelia Earheart will be some of the many we will be exploring.

In Science, we will be learning all about plants and how they grow. Children will be planting their own plants and taking care of them. 

In RE, we will be learning about Lent.  Lent is the period of six weeks (40 days not including Sundays) leading up to Easter, the most important festival in the Christian calendar.

Lent starts on Ash Wednesday. The last week of Lent is called Holy Week.

Physical Education (P.E.)

In PE this half term, with Mr Davies, the children will be focusing on Tennis and Volleyball. They will learn the importance of playing in team games and the skills required for each sport.  

Music
Develop listening skills using different sounds on keyboards and through live and recorded audio performances. This will be working on film scores too to build on learning.
