🪥Brushing our teeth🪥

In reception, we have been learning the importance of brushing our teeth.
We now know:

🦷 What foods are good and bad for our teeth
🦷 How to brush our teeth

🦷 How long to brush our teeth for

We had so much fun doing our toothy activities 🪥

Our class snails

Reception have been taking care of our class pets so well since we came back and they were eager to get them out so Gary, Dave and Steve came out to meet the children properly.

Even Mrs Chambers got to hold them.

Tasting porridge

Today we tasted some delicious porridge.

Just like Goldilocks in our talk for writing story.

Some of us really enjoyed it and thought it was yummy with honey or chocolate!

Looking after our World

Reception had a visit from Beth, who works for Walsall Council. She came to talk to us all about litter and how we can help look after our planet. We listened to stories about Eco Dolphin and Captain Reek. We helped Eco Dolphin to save the planet by singing songs and recycling our rubbish. Our hall looked so much better when we had finished!

Back in class we read a story called 'Michael Recycle' and did our own recycling game. Since then we have been keeping our classroom and school clean, recycling our paper and turning out the lights when we leave the room.

The owls came to visit

This morning, we got to see some owls in the hall.

We sat nice and quietly so we didn't frighten the owls.

We saw 4 different types of owl.

They were:

an African white faced owl, an Eagle owl, a Mottled owl and a Great grey owl.

We had so much fun seeing the owls.

The great grey owl flew over our heads and the mottled owl was actually an owl baby.

We know from our literacy learning that an owl baby is called an owlet.

Well done reception for your super sitting and listening smiley

Owl baby crafts

Today in our literacy, we have been learning about the story, Owl Babies. We went outside and made some of our own owl babies with pinecones, feathers and lots of glue.

We had so much fun making our owl babies, even though it was a little bit messy laugh

Our first week

Reception have settled in well and have already been learning lots of new skills.

We are really proud of them all.
