Football Tournament 2/3/22

Our amazing Year 6 football team continued their outstanding sportsmanship in the final tournament of the league.

They played with excellent skill and teamwork and won each match by a considerable amount.

Well done!!!

They will receive their cup in due course to be displayed proudly in school.

Football Tournament 10/11/21

Some of our Year Six boys competed in the Willenhall’s  'A' League Football competition. Eight other schools were in attendance and we competed in just one match.

As always the children from St Joseph's represented our school with excellent behaviour and sportsmanship.

Here is a short commentary from one of our players Eashan:

On Wednesday evening some boys from year 6 went to a football tournament to represent our school. Seven of the year 6 boys went there Abdul, Logan, D’reece, Alex, Zach, Kieran and myself. In the game we played a 2-3-1 formation and everyone played different positions. I played centre midfielder (CM).  For our game we played ST Thomas of Canterbury and we managed a successful 2 – 0 victory . Scorers were Alex and Eashan. After the game everyone was thrilled with our win. Mrs Hinton was very happy and proud for our school. The thing that won us the game was our self belief, our skill and our teamwork as well as Mr Davies’ coaching. On the way back from the tournament everyone on the coach was filled with joy and ready to win another game the next time we will play.

Thank you Eashan and a very well done to all of the players. A fantastic team effort.

Football Tournament 20/10/21

Yesterday some of our Year Three and Four children competed in Walsall’s Football Festival competition. Eight other schools were in attendance and we competed in three matches. The weather was far from ideal and came down heavily for most of the tournament.

Despite the challenging conditions they all represented the school with excellent behaviour and sportsmanship throughout and even won all three matches with some excellent scores!

A special mention has to go to Mason for a final winning goal within the last 30 seconds of the third match!

St Josephs - 3 x Short Heath team B - 0

St Josephs - 2 x  Reedswood - 1

St Josephs - 3 x Short Heath team A – 2

Well done boys – We are all very proud of you.

Netball Tournament 6/10/21

A fantastic result at the first sporting event of this academic year, with our Netball team competing in the Y5/6 Walsall Schools Hi 5 event.

They won all three matches without conceding a goal and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship in the way that they conducted themselves in and out of the games.

Well done!
