Virtues & Values
At St Joseph’s, we follow the Diocesan Catholic Values and Virtues. These virtues teach our children how to grow in their faith as well as how to grow as good individuals in the footsteps of Jesus.
Every half term there will be a different focus. Certificates and stickers are presented weekly to children in each class who have demonstrated their growth in the current virtues.
These are the virtues that the children will be focusing on this year:
Values and Virtues 2024 - 2025 | |
Autumn 1 | Curious & Active |
Autumn 2 | Intentional & Prophetic |
Spring 1 | Grateful & Generous |
Spring 2 | Attentive & Discerning |
Summer 1 | Compassionate & Loving |
Summer 2 | Faith-filled & Hopeful |
This half term we are trying to be...
Intentional:
planning our actions and choosing to live how God wants us to.
Every action we make has an impact on other people and the world around us. If we
live intentionally, we listen to our conscience and deliberately decide that the actions
we take will have a positive impact. We use the earth’s resources wisely, think about
the choices we make, and care for God’s creation.
Prophetic:
spreading the word of God through how we live our lives.
As we choose to act intentionally and make good decisions, we encourage others to
do the same. We set a good example through our words and deeds and inspire other
people to act in a positive and wise way. We help people to make the right decisions
themselves and think about how God wants them to live their lives.
