Autumn 1
Week beginning 13th October, 2025
Where we live
In our understanding the world lessons, we have been looking at where we live.
We have discussed the things, we see around Darlaston.
We can see:
- Lots of houses
 - Asda
 - Home Bargains
 - Tesco
 - 2 churches
 - St George's statue
 - The park

In one of our lessons, we even had a try at building our local area.
We love talking about where we live and the children get very excited to share the things they see.
Week beginning 29th September, 2025
We have been so busy this week practicing our number recognition and counting skills in maths as well as practicing our colour recognition and grouping them together correctly.

              Week beginning 22nd September
This week in reception, we have been really practising our subitising in our maths learning.
In our RE lesson, we have been learning the story of creation. We now know that God made all of the things in the world.
During playtime, we found an egg. We put it in our curiosity corner and discussed which bird we think it came from. We researched the egg and found out that it was an egg for a wood pigeon.
Week beginning 15th September
This week we have been doing a lot of super learning. We have been learning the story of owl babies in literacy, subitising in maths, practicing our blending of words in phonics as well as finding time for lots of outdoor time.
Week beginning 8th September 2025
