Homework

Homework expectations for Nursery.

Reading

We will send home a reading book (these will be changed weekly on a Monday) We ask that you read with your child daily, talking about the pictures in the book and retell the story they make.

You can also take home a home reader book.

These are for you to read with your child and develop an enjoyment and excitement for reading. You can change these books whenever you are ready too.

When you drop your child off, there is a bookcase in the cloakroom, this is where the home readers are kept, please, return and collect a new one when you need too.

Writing

Any opportunities for the children to make make at home really helps to improve their writing skills.

Maths

Finding any opportunity for the children to count or to explore numbers, shapes, colours, weight and capacity will help to develop their interest for maths.

Independence

Helping the children to become more independent at home is really important. Using the toilet, dressing and undressing - especially coats and tidying up are all ways the children can become more independent.
