Reception
The members of staff are Mrs Corfield, Mrs Machin and Miss Sutton.
Children are required to be at school between 8.40 and 8.55am each morning.
Our PE days are:
Monday and Wednesday but you are welcome to leave their PE kit in school in case of any changes or as a set of spare clothes in case of accidents as children without the correct PE kit will not receive their golden stamp.
Reading Books
The children need to bring their reading books into school every day so that we can read with them during the week. Please continue to read with your children at home and sign their planners every day to make sure they receive their golden stamp.
Children will be able to bring home two books. One is their phonics book, this is a book for the children to read themselves. The other book is their 1000 stories and is for you to read to your child, or for you to read together. You can change this book as often as you like in our cloakroom area. Just remember to record the title in your child's planner.
For more information and photos, please see the links below
During their first six weeks of school Reception age children across the country complete a baseline set out by the government. Please see the leaflet below for further information.
If you have any questions about this, do come and see Mrs Corfield in Reception.

❄️ Snow Day Fun for Reception❄️
What a lovely surprise to wake up to snow! As school is closed today, we hope you can enjoy some special time together. Snow days are very exciting and don’t happen very often, so please enjoy them, have lots of fun, and make some happy memories.
If it’s safe to go outside, here are some simple learning activities your child can enjoy at home:
🔢 Maths Task
Count snowballs, stones, or footsteps in the snow. Can your child count up to 10 or beyond? Talk about which group has more or fewer.
🔤 Phonics Task
Use your finger or a stick to draw letters or sounds in the snow. Can your child say the sound and think of a word that starts with it?
✏️ Writing / Mark-Making Task
Encourage your child to draw a picture of the snow and talk about it. They might try to write their name, label their picture, or write a simple word like *snow* or *cold*
Wrap up warm, stay safe, and enjoy this snowy day together.
Make the most of it — we don’t get snow very often!
We look forward to seeing everyone back at school soon. ❄️☃️
