Year Four
Welcome to Year 4!
The Year 4 members of staff are Mr Adlington and Mrs Perks. We will also be joined by Mr Davies, Miss Edwards, Miss Scoines, Mrs Evans, Mrs Beech and Mrs Cornes who will help us with our learning as well.
Children are required to be at school between 8.40 and 8.55am each morning.
Our PE days this half term are:
Wednesday and Friday.
Please ensure children have their PE kit with them on these days- a red round-neck PE t-shirt, navy blue shorts and black pumps. Outdoor PE kit with warm jogging bottoms and a jumper can be worn when/if the weather starts to get colder.
Please ensure children have sensible and plain black or white trainers for outdoor PE.
Reading Books
The children need to bring their reading books into school every day. The more they read - the more quizzes they can complete. Please continue to read with your children at home for at 15-20 mins.
Key Instant Recall Facts (KIRFS) and Multiplication Tables
To help with their fluency and understanding of number, and to become ready for their Multiplication Tables Check please practise timestables and KIRFs daily.

Friday 9th January 2026 - Snow Day Learning
As school is closed, we hope you can spend some special time together with your family enjoying the snow and taking the opportunity to go outside and have some fun as days like this do not come around very often . If you do go outside, stay safe and enjoy!☃️❄️
Here are some simple learning activities you can do at home:
📖 Reading Task
Read for at least 20 minutes (a book, article, or non-fiction text) during the day today. Why not complete a quiz or one article on Accelerated Reading so you are ready to get a new book on Monday morning?
✏️ Writing Task
Write a snow story either about what you have been doing in the snow, make up a story about a snow adventure or write an acrostic poem describing the snow using the words SNOW DAY as the first letter of each line.
💻 Maths Task
Log into TT Rock Stars and complete at least 20 minutes of Studio Time you have been set. Complete at least 2 MTCs.
🎁 RE Task
Pretending to be one of the wise men, write an account of what happened when you went to meet the baby Jesus.
🔍 Science Task
Do some research about snow flakes. How do they form? How big are they? What do they look like? Write a fact file about snowflakes, draw or make some snowflakes.
