Year 4 Viking Day

Year 4 had a fantastic time learning about the Vikings and their invasion of Britain, yesterday. They found out about some traditional Viking activities, had a go at writing Kenning poems and played a board game. They also re-enacted some famous battles, including the Battle of Hastings and listened to stories from Norse mythology. Finally, they got to see Viking armour and weapons, before finishing the day with a demonstration of a beheading (an axe chopping a melon! ). A great day was had by all of Year 4!
