  • Stone Age Workshop Year 3

    Mon 25 Nov 2024

Today Year 3 welcomed a special visitor - Dan from the Stone Age ...well, not exactly.

Dan joined us to talk about life in Britain all those hundreds of thousands of years ago.

The class began by looking at how people were dressed all those hundreds of thousands of years ago.

Dan then introduced them to some of the tools they would have used for surviving, living, eating, entertainment and hunting.

In the afternoon, they got creative and had a go at sharpening flint into arrowheads!

Finally, they made Stone Age 'candles' from clay, which the children will take home when they have dried!

A very excited Year 3 gained a lot from the practical session and having an expert in who was so engaging and entertaining!

Our Liturgy Leaders planned, prepared and led the whole school in a beautiful Remembrance Liturgy this morning.

Well done children, you thought carefully about each of the different parts of the liturgy - 'Gather', 'Listen', 'Respond' and 'Go Forth'. You also read the readings and prayers clearly for everyone to hear. Members of the choir from Year 5 & 6 sang beautifully too.
