  • Easter Bonnet Parade Fun!

    Well done to our EYFS and KS1 children who looked fantastic in their Easter bonnets this morning! Thank you to all the parents who came along to watch the parade.

  • Our Big Lent Walk for CAFOD

    Today the children and staff at St. Joseph's have walked a combined 382km on our CAFOD Big Lent walk as part of the walking team from St. John Henry Newman Parish. We've also donated £100 to CAFOD. Well done everyone!

  • Y2 Queens Workshop

    Year 2 took part in a queens workshop to end their history unit. They all became knights this morning and had the opportunity to do some jousting, designed their own crest, looked at some artefacts and took part in a knighthood ceremony. This afternoon they learnt about Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth I and did some super dancing. To end the day, they completed a big quiz to recap everything they had learnt. All the children had a fantastic day!

  • St Joseph's school achieves National Mental Health & Wellbeing Accreditation!

    St Joseph's has received a National Mental Health & Wellbeing Accreditation for successfully engaging the whole school in building a culture where mental health and wellbeing is placed at the heart of decision making. The school has successfully completed a comprehensive mental health and wellbeing training programme demonstrating its commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of staff and pupils in line with DfE guidance and best practice. 

     

  • Year 2 perform their descriptive writing of settings in 'The Flower'

  • Y1 Tomato growing investigation

    Year One have been learning about the germination of a seed in their Science lesson. They found out that germination takes place when a seed is planted into wet soil. First, they watched a time lapse video of a tomato plant growing. Then they started an investigation to see if a plant could grow from a piece of tomato. Hopefully some tomato plants will start sprouting in the next few weeks.

  • Year 6 parent workshop - Screen printing

    Year 6 took part in a screen print workshop with their parents yesterday. They used the CAFOD Live Simply award as inspiration for their designs, cut out their design to make a stencil and used a print screen and fabric paint to transfer it into their tote bag. There were some amazing ideas and fun had by all! Thank you to all of the parents who came along.

  • Y4 Family learning event - Anglo Saxons and Scots workshop

    Thank you to our Year 4 parents for joining the children in their Anglo-Saxons and Scots History workshop this afternoon. They all took part in a carousel fact hunt looking for information and completing a question grid. Well done everyone!

  • Y2 create pictograms in computing

    Year 2 have been learning about pictograms in computing. In this week's lesson they created a tally chart to show how many of each different minibeast there were and then used this data to create a pictogram.
