  • 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear...'

    Our Nursery children have been reading the story 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear'. They are enjoying joining in with the words of the story.

    They also enjoyed making paper plate brown bears and paper orange goldfish to help them remember the story and recognise their colours.

    To make the brown bears, they dabbed brown paint on a paper plate with a sponge, stuck on a brown paper and black felt nose, googly eyes and cupcake case ears. For the goldfish, they stuck all of their scales on using different materials such as felt, tissue paper, and crepe paper.

  • Music Award success!

    We have achieved another award!We are delighted to have been awarded the Music Mark again in recognition of our commitment to providing a high quality music education to all children A special thank you and well done to Mrs Evans, who is responsible for leading music across the school and to Miss Scoines from Rock It Music Projects Ltd for teaching the children so brilliantly in their weekly music lessons. WE LOVE MUSIC!

  • Black History Month Dance Workshops

    As part of our celebrations for Black History Month, the children in Years 2 - 6 enjoyed a dance workshop yesterday with Keneish Dance. They learned how to perform a Jamaican dance called 'Kumina'. It was lots of fun!

  • Reception learn about litter & recycling

    Last week Reception class had a visit from Beth, who works for Walsall Council. She came to talk to them about litter and how we can help look after our planet. They listened to stories about Eco Dolphin and Captain Reek. They helped Eco Dolphin to save the planet by singing songs and recycling rubbish. Our school hall looked so much better when we had finished!

    Back in class, they read a story called 'Michael Recycle' and played their our own recycling game. Since then they have been keeping their classroom and school clean, recycling their paper and turning out the lights when they leave the room.

  • Year 1 working scientifically

    Year 1 have been working scientifically by conducting an experiment to see which materials would sink in water and which would float. Year 1 made excellent predictions about the different materials and what might happen to them using their excellent scientific knowledge. Well done Year 1!

  • Year 4 fun at Woodlands Adventure

    Year 4 spent yesterday at Woodlands Adventure. They had a fantastic time, experiencing new, exciting and adventurous activities. The children were very well behaved, worked well to support and encourage one another and gave everything a really good go, even when it was something they were a bit nervous about doing! Well done, children!

  • Shakespeare drama workshop

    Today, Year 6 completed a Macbeth workshop as part of their English unit. They acted out different scenes, looked at the language and expression used within the play, explored characters and themes and played lots of great drama games. A great day was had by all – well done Year 6.

  • Harvest donations collected with thanks

    The food and toiletries you all kindly donated for our Harvest celebration were collected by the Good Shepherd, Wolverhampton this morning. Well done to our Mini Vinnies for turning their concern into action! These donations will make a huge difference to many local families and individuals in need of support.

  • Y1 & 2 Learning about ' A Cleaner tomorrow'

    Yesterday, Year 1 and 2 took part in 'A Cleaner Tomorrow Assembly' with Walsall Council; they discussed the importance of recycling and putting rubbish in the bin. The children learnt how throwing their rubbish on the floor is bad for our environment and that we need to take care of God's world. The children told our visitor from that at St Joseph's we make sure we keep our grounds tidy and we use litter pickers to help the environment. Well done Year 1 and 2!

  • Year 5 Art Day

    In Art, Year 5 have been learning about Typography and experimenting with different fonts and illustrations. They found out about Typography artists like Louise Fili and tried their best to design their own fonts and illustrations linked to the local area. Well done, Year 5!
