  • Year 5 supporting the local community with their gardening skills

    ear 5 did a super job this morning putting their gardening skills to good use at St. Joseph's Church in Darlaston! They helped Fr. Craig and some members of the St. John Henry Newman Parish to litter pick, pull out weeds and plant some bedding plants. #livesimply

  • Y5 Prayer time for parents

    Year 5 parents joined them for their end of the day prayer time. They thought about water; how we can sometimes take it for granted and considered the work of CAFOD in helping our world communities have access to clean water. They thanked God for His wonderful creation. Well done, Year 5!

  • Y6 WWII Parent Workshop

    Yesterday, Year 6 and their parents took part in a WW2 art workshop. They made Blitz silhouette artwork and made model spitfire planes. Everyone had a lovely afternoon and the children produced some fabulous pieces of work. Well done everyone!

  • Year 5 Outdoor & Adventurous fun at Woodlands!

  • First Aid workshops for Year 5 & 6

    This afternoon, as part of their PSHE work, Year 5 and 6 have been learning about First Aid with the help of the Red Cross. They acted out different scenarios and found out what to do in different emergencies. Well done everyone!

  • Y2 Parent Workshop - The Great fire of London

    Year 2 held a 'Great Fire of London' parent workshop yesterday afternoon linked to their learning in History. The children made their own model house to look like it was built in 1666. They thought carefully about what materials to use as they know houses were made from wood and caught fire very easily. Well done Year 2, your houses all look fantastic and thank you to all the parents who attended.

  • Y3 Parent Workshop - Dips & Dippers

    Year3 children were joined by their families in school yesterday for a fantastic 'Dips and Dippers' workshop. The children followed their design plans to make a healthy snack pot with a little bit of help from the adults. Afterwards, the children enjoyed showing them all the healthy foods we are growing in our school garden. Well done, Year 3 and thank you to all the families who attended.

  • RHS Gardening Awards!

    We are very proud to have achieved our Level 1, 2 and 3 School Gardening Awards from the Royal Horticultural Society! Not only have we received some beautiful certificates but also a fabulous calendar to help us know what to do in the garden each month, a beautiful gardening book and a £50 voucher to spend on even more plants, seeds and bulbs! Our children love spending time in the garden, getting stuck in with gardening and observing the changes in plants and trees growing.

  • Year 5 retreat day at St Thomas More

    Year 5 took part in a Retreat Day at St Thomas More Catholic School, Willenhall today. They found out more about Pope Francis' message in his letter 'Laudato Si' and how we can show our love for God's creation by living more sustainably. They participated in a prayer service at the end of the day to reflect on the important things they had learned. Thank you to everyone at St Thomas More for leading such a lovely day for us.

  • Visit to school by Director of Walsall Children's Services

    Yesterday we were visited by Sally Rowe, Director of Children’s Services at Walsall Council. She thoroughly enjoyed visiting our lovely school, meeting our fabulous children and looking at the children’s work.
