  • Food Waste Bins

The initiative aims to cut the amount of rubbish ending up in landfill, cut gas emissions and to use food waste to produce renewable energy. By adding our food waste into a separate bin we are taking care of God's creation and thinking about how we can be stewards by protecting our beautiful world. Year Two have been busy designing posters to help us remember to recycle and out our food waste in the food waste bins.

Year 2 had a fantastic DT day making their very own fruit salad. Firstly children thought about the importance of food hygiene including tying hair back, washing hands and wearing an apron. They then tasted a range of different fruits to see which ones were their favourite and planned what they wanted in their fruit salad. During the day, children had a go at using different utensils including graters, peelers, knives and juicers in order to present their fruit in different ways. Amazing work Year 2!

  • Year 2 Farm visit

    Thu 20 Mar 2025

Year 2 had a fantastic day at the farm in the sunshine! Farmer John told us all about the different types of seeds and the children got their hands muddy soil testing. The children were very excited to have a ride on the trailer around the farm where they saw cows, fed the sheep and went on a minibeast hunt. We saw lots of different habitats including woodlands, ponds and soil. Did you know lots of insects even love to live in sheep poo? After lunch, children sat in the tractors and two lucky children even got to drive a small one (very slowly of course). To finish our amazing day, the children held the new-born lambs and even saw a lamb being born! What an amazing day we had!
