    Inspired by the story 'Whatever Next', Reception have been having lots of fun learning about space and creating their own space rockets in lots of different ways. Well done, children.

    Year 1 have been exploring why colour is important in their art lessons this week. They found out that colour could affect their mood. They created a sad and happy rainbow using the colours that affect how they feel. To create the sad rainbow, they used colours that are cool and for a happy rainbow they used warm colours. After that, they created self-portraits using colours to show how they were feeling: yellow for happy, blue for sad, green for envy, red for love or anger, purple for excited.

  • Y6 Visit to St.Chad's Cathedral

    Year 6 visited St Chad's Cathedral in Birmingham yesterday. They were an absolute credit to the school and really impressed their tour guides with their knowledge and understanding of RE and the Catholic Faith. Their excellent behaviour, responses and reverence in Mass were also noted and commented on by parishioners. Well done, Year Six.

  • Y2 Art

    Year 2 have been printmaking in art this week. They made rubbings of different textures on the playground to create a range of patterns, then used these to create pictures in their sketch book.

    The children also used a range of flat objects from around the classroom and stamps that they cut out themselves to print and create patterns.

  • Online Safety in Reception

    Our Early Years children have been reading the stories of Digiduck to help them learn about keeping safe online and also have a poster to remind them about Digiduck's messages. Inspired by the poster, Violet in Reception class, decided to create her own online safety poster to help keep her friends safe.   • Year 5 learn about Biomes at Birmingham Botanical Gardens

    Year 5 had a fantastic day at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham continuing their Geography work on Biomes by learning about different plants and animals from different parts of the world. They got to hold a stick insect, a giant snail called Kevin, a salamander, hissing cockroaches, a Tenrec called Loki, a bearded dragon called Rambo and a corn snake called Toffee. They explored the glass houses and touched and smelt different plants from around the world and learned about how they have adapted to their Biome. They also explored the grounds and looked at local wildlife and even had some time in the adventure playground!

  • Y4 - Children's Mental Health Week

    During Children's Mental Health Week, Year 4 used blob trees to help them see their different emotions and to think about who supports us to feel better. They then coloured their blob trees in all different colours to show them at their happiest.

  • Y2 attend performance by CBSO

    Year 2 attended a performance by members of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra called 'Race through Space'. The children really enjoyed watching and listening to the professional musicians playing a variety of instruments.

  • Y5 Visit to watch the City Of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra

    On Monday, Year 5 visited Symphony Hall in Birmingham to watch a special performance by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. The children were fascinated by the whole experience; they enjoyed seeing such a wide range of instruments played by musicians and listening to pieces of music by different composers with the theme of 'The Natural World.'
