    Today, our fantastic Year Four pupils celebrated Poetry Day in style! Armed with creativity and enthusiasm, they dove into the magical world of words, learning and performing their selected poems with vibrant props that brought their poem to life!

    Year Four studied the works of Paul Cezanne and learned about still life pictures. Using frames, they created square pictures from a Still Life that they will be using to create Clay tiles when they visit STM in a couple of weeks time.

    Fun-filled Day in Reception!

    Today in Reception, our young learners dove into the delightful world of poetry with the charming poem 'Throw a Ball'. After exploring the rhythm and sounds of the poem, the excitement continued as the children enjoyed a fantastic day playing a variety of ball games!

    From throwing and catching to rolling and bouncing, our little ones showcased their teamwork and skills while developing their motor abilities and having an absolute blast! It’s inspiring to see how play can encourage creativity, physical coordination, and social interaction.

    Staying Safe with Safety Seymour: Year 5 Workshop on Carbon Monoxide

    We’re thrilled to share that our Year 5 students have just completed a fantastic workshop with Safety Seymour, focusing on an incredibly important topic: carbon monoxide safety!

    During this interactive session, our pupils learned all about the dangers of carbon monoxide, how to recognise symptoms, and most importantly, how to stay safe at home. It’s essential knowledge that will help ensure our children are equipped to protect themselves and their families.

    A big thank you to the Safety Seymour team for delivering such an engaging and informative workshop! We encourage all our families to discuss what the children learned, and let's keep the conversation going about safety in our homes!

    Safety Seymour Assembly on Carbon Monoxide Safety with Jade.

    Yesterday, our students had an enlightening experience during the Safety Seymour assembly focused on the vital topic of carbon monoxide safety.

    Jade led the session, teaching our children about the dangers of this silent threat lurking in our homes and how to stay safe.

    Through engaging stories and interactive demonstrations, Jade emphasised the importance of recognising the signs of carbon monoxide poisoning and the critical need for regular safety checks, especially during the colder months.

    Our children left with valuable knowledge and safety tips that they can share with you at home!

  • Year 3 Science Lesson

    Yesterday, in Science, Year 3 today have been investigating how water travels through the stem of a plant.

    They have set up an investigation using dye and celery to observe any changes in the colour of the celery as the water travels up the stem.

    As part of the investigation, we have also observed our own celery, identifying and explaining what we have observed.

    They will update on the progress!

  • Walsall Games Cross Country Running

    A huge well done to our Key Stage 2 pupils this morning. They represented St Joseph's beautifully at the Walsall Games Cross Country Running event at Aldridge outdoor centre. They ran well and with excellent determination, to achieve some wonderful results including a third place win amongst them! 400 children competed in the event, with 50-90 in each year groups race. A great achievement.

    A big thank you to the families who made it to support them today too, we were very grateful for the support.
