DT Day Year One
Wed 12 Mar 2025Today has been Year 3's D&T day and we have been looking at levers and linkages.
We started the day by learning a little about real life examples of links and linkages, with the children knowing some good examples of these too! Then we labelled a diagram of an example of a link and lever.
After play time, the children used their understanding of technological language to match these key terms to their sign. Next, we worked on a key part of our day when we completed our design brief and created a picture of what our end product would look like.
When the children returned from lunch, it was time to create their moving arm! As you can see from the pictures, we had an incredible time making our end products!
A thoroughly enjoyable day with some amazing work, making it such a worthwhile day!

Sacrament of Baptism
Wed 12 Mar 2025Year 2 had an exciting afternoon in church learning all about the Sacrament of Baptism and Reconciliation. With the help of Father Craig, children acted out a Baptism thinking about the different signs and symbols including the candle, shell and Holy water. Father then introduced children to the Sacrament of Reconciliation and showed the children where this takes place. Year 2 were very knowledgeable and had some fantastic answers.
A big thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers who came with us.

Farm on Wheels
Wed 12 Mar 2025"What a fantastic treat Reception and Nursery have had today with a visit from Stella and her animals from the Farm on Wheels. The children were able to able to share all off the things they have learnt so far in our topic such as the names of the animals and their babies. They had the opportunity to stroke Sprinkle and Honey the goats. They were so friendly but more interested in eating the grass than saying hello. Then we were able to feed Timmy the lamb his breakfast bottle of milk. We couldn't believe how quickly he drank. Then we saw the hens and the ducks and compared them to the tiny ducklings and chicks that we hatched just a week ago. After that we had a lovely stroke of Yang the guinea pig who was very cuddly. Reception and Nursery were well behaved and really impressed us with all that they had remembered."

World Book Day 2025
Thu 06 Mar 2025Today we launched World Book Day by gathering in the hall to celebrate reading. We listened to the rap from MC Grammar and talked about why it is important to read and what we enjoyed reading. We also played the story guessing game, where an extract of a story was shared and we had to guess the book. It was very exciting and we were fabulous at guessing correctly. The story was then unwrapped and the text revealed.

Ash Wednesday Celebration of the Word
Wed 05 Mar 2025Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent. During Lent we are asked to try to change, to become better versions of ourselves. We can do this by trying to be more like Jesus.
Today our Liturgy Leaders planned and delivered a child-led liturgy for Ash Wednesday. They thought carefully about the aspects of worship gather, listen, respond and go forth and planed a reverent celebration of the word.
They asked the rest of the school to think about how during Lent they are going to do three things: to spend more time in prayer so that we can get to know Jesus better, to fast from something that is keeping us from being the kind of person that Jesus wants us to be and to help those who are in need. Pray, fast and almsgiving.
