  • Year 2 Trip to The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra

Year 2 had a fantastic morning listening to the different musical instruments and brilliant pieces of music played by The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. The children had to earn stars and race through space focusing on endurance, coordination, fitness, strength and mindset. They thought about how all of these link to being athletes as well as musicians. During their challenges, children used different body parts to create rhythms and patterns, move in time with the music and recreate high and low notes. The children were all very well behaved and participated with great enthusiasm!

  • Dentaid

    Fri 14 Mar 2025

This afternoon we welcomed Danielle from Dentaid, The Dental Charity to talk to us about looking after our teeth so we have healthy teeth for life. She told us all about the function of our teeth and how it important to brush them twice a day, morning and night for 2 minutes. We also played a game where we needed to decide if the food displayed was healthy or not for our teeth. Did you know that a can of coke has 10 spoons of sugar in? Danielle told us that it is okay to have treats as part of a balanced diet but we need to make sure that we make good choices and brush our teeth carefully

  • Year 4 Class Assembly

    Fri 14 Mar 2025

What a lovely way to begin our school day with the Year Four class assembly. The children talked about being brave and today in their assembly they all demonstrated this quality by standing up and telling everyone about their learning. We discovered all about their learning in Geography which skilfully incorporated one of our Jubilee of Hope pledges, when they asked us to pray for peace and Pope Francis. The children sang beautifully to begin and end their assembly. Through their English text Harry Potter, they reflected on the themes of friendship and bravery and how we can incorporate these into our lives. Well done Year 4!

This morning, some of the Year 1 children led our prayer session, reflecting on those living in poverty and the importance of spreading hope. As part of this, they invited the class to write short prayers on post-it notes about hope and how we can share it in our world.

The children then placed their prayers onto our world to symbolically spread their messages. Well done, Year 1—what a beautiful and thoughtful gesture!

  • DT Day Year One

    Wed 12 Mar 2025

Today has been Year 3's D&T day and we have been looking at levers and linkages.

We started the day by learning a little about real life examples of links and linkages, with the children knowing some good examples of these too! Then we labelled a diagram of an example of a link and lever.

After play time, the children used their understanding of technological language to match these key terms to their sign. Next, we worked on a key part of our day when we completed our design brief and created a picture of what our end product would look like.

When the children returned from lunch, it was time to create their moving arm! As you can see from the pictures, we had an incredible time making our end products!

A thoroughly enjoyable day with some amazing work, making it such a worthwhile day!
