  • Year 5 trip to Leicester Space Centre

    Tue 17 Dec 2024

Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic trip to Leicester Space Centre last Thursday. They watched a show in the planetarium which was very interesting about how astronauts prepare for a space launch and how they stay healthy while there. After lunch, the children had some free time to explore the rocket tower - a 144 step climb to the top - and all the exhibits. They were fascinated by the Mars Rover, the machine to test for space sickness and the example of how heavy a tin of beans would be on each planet, the sun and the moon. Their behaviour was excellent as always - they did St Joseph's and their families proud! Well done Year 5!

  • Year 5 and Year 6 Advent Stay and Pray

    Mon 16 Dec 2024

Year 5 and 6 liturgy leaders planned and prepared a wonderful liturgy today. The children and their family members made Christingles, thinking about the meaning of the different symbols and then used these as a focus during their prayer time.

The liturgy leaders shared readings about the Wise Men and the gifts they brought for Jesus, and read prayers they had written before asking us all to join in singing 'We Three Kings'.

The lit Christingles created a beautiful prayerful atmosphere, reminding us all to allow the Light of Christ to enter our lives this Christmas .

Well done, children and thank you to all the families who attended!

The hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows helped us keep going

    Fri 13 Dec 2024

Year 3 visited St Thomas More School for a bread making workshop linked to their D&T work about Healthy Packed Lunches and their Healthy Eating topic in Science.

  • Year 1 and Year2 Advent Stay and Pray

    Thu 12 Dec 2024

Thank you to all the parents who came to the Year 1 and Year 2 Advent stay and pray. The children worked hard with the liturgy leaders to plan and deliver a reverent prayer and liturgy service. The readers read eloquently and the singing was beautiful. The children reminded us all that during this extremely busy time of the year we need to open our hearts to Jesus.
