  • Year 3 DT day at St Thomas More

    Fri 13 Dec 2024

Year 3 visited St Thomas More School for a bread making workshop linked to their D&T work about Healthy Packed Lunches and their Healthy Eating topic in Science.

After washing their hands to follow food hygiene rules, the children weighed their flour, added water and mixed their ingredients until it became a soft dough.

After a short run around outside on the playground, as the dough was baking into bread, they returned to collect their finished products. They children really enjoyed tasting their bread!

The children's effort and behaviour were outstanding - well done children! Thank you to St Thomas More Catholic School, Willenhall for helping us with our learning!

  • Year 1 and Year2 Advent Stay and Pray

    Thu 12 Dec 2024

Thank you to all the parents who came to the Year 1 and Year 2 Advent stay and pray. The children worked hard with the liturgy leaders to plan and deliver a reverent prayer and liturgy service. The readers read eloquently and the singing was beautiful. The children reminded us all that during this extremely busy time of the year we need to open our hearts to Jesus.

  • The Nativity

    Tue 10 Dec 2024

The children's performance was absolutely fantastic! EYFS and KS1 had worked extremely hard to remember all of their lines and they spoke so eloquently and could be heard from the back of the hall. All the children sang beautifully.

  • Nursery and Reception Advent Stay and Pray

    Fri 06 Dec 2024

To help guide us throughout our Advent journey, Nursery and Reception prepared a Stay and Pray liturgy to help us remind us to be hopeful and prepare for the birth of Christ and Jesus’ second coming. Parents were welcomed into our school to share this journey with us. Throughout the liturgy the children reverently reflected on what Father Craig had told us in his homily to be actively waiting. The Reception Liturgy Leaders were fabulous in organising the prayer focus and leading us in prayer.

  • Panto Time

    Thu 05 Dec 2024

Year One to Year Six had a fabulous time at the pantomime. They all really enjoyed Beauty and the Beast.

  • Year 6 DT Day

    Wed 04 Dec 2024

In DT yesterday, Year 6 were designing and using their sewing skills to decorate shopping bags. They looked at existing products, researched famous designers such as Louis Vuitton and designed their own bags. The children then spent the afternoon sewing and making their own tote bags to use when they go shopping. There were some excellent designs - we may even have the next fashion designer of the future! Well done Year 6, sewing can be very tricky but you all worked really hard.

  • Whole School Mass

    Tue 03 Dec 2024

This afternoon we gathered in the school hall to celebrate a lovely Advent Mass together.

During his Homily, Fr Craig spoke to us about this special time of waiting as a time of being active in our preparations to celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas.

The children suggested some great examples of the ways they can be active while they wait- sharing love and kindness with others, praying, supporting those in need and counting down using our Advent wreaths and calendars.

Fr Craig also blessed the beautiful Advent wreaths made by each class to help them with this important time of preparation and waiting.

  • St Andrew's Day

    Mon 02 Dec 2024

Today we celebrated St Andrew’s Day! The children in St Andrew’s house led our assembly this morning, telling everyone all about St Andrew and why we celebrate him. During the afternoon, St Andrew’s house gathered together and took part in some Scottish dancing. They also designed their own tartan and coloured the national flower - a thistle. Every class also had a special Scottish treat - shortbread! All the children were amazing and did St Andrew’s house proud!

  • Year Five Class Assembly

    Fri 29 Nov 2024

Year 5's assembly this morning was all about space and the solar system. They told us lots of facts about planets and other parts of space, sang a song about the 8 planets and used props to help us visualise as they spoke. Well done, Year 5, you showed real maturity preparing for, and delivering, this assembly. You took it extremely seriously and delivered it clearly and enthusiastically.
