Microbit computing in Years 5 & 6
Thu 14 Sep 2023Today, Year 5 & 6 took part in computing workshops using Microbits. They learnt how to use a Microbit and how to control the different variables. They had a fantastic time and really learnt a lot – they are looking forward to using Microbits in their computing lessons later this academic year.

Virtual Visit to the British Museum for Year 4
Thu 14 Sep 2023Year 4 had a virtual lesson from the British Museum in London today, finding out about Temples in Ancient Greece.

Archaeology at St Joseph's!
Wed 13 Sep 2023This week in school we are very excited to be working with Archaeology in Mind - AiM to help us understand the role of archaeology in History. A test pit has been dug in our school grounds and the children have been helping to sieve the soil to see if they can find any artefacts. We can't wait to see what we find over the next few days

Nursery exploring outside
Wed 13 Sep 2023Today in nursery, the children went out in the sunshine to explore the outdoor area. They looked through binoculars to see what they could find, crawled through the tunnel and had fun drawing pictures of what they had found. It was lots of fun! Well done, Nursery.

First School Mass of the year
Wed 06 Sep 2023This afternoon we celebrated the first school Mass of the school year. Fr. Craig blessed the children’s pencil cases to help them all with their learning in the year ahead and encouraged us to be guided in our decision making by considering WWJD - What would Jesus do? We know that Jesus would love first!

Year 1 visti to Essington Fruit Farm
Thu 20 Jul 2023Year 1 visited Essington Fruit Farm today as part of their learning in Science and Design & Technology. They are learning where food comes from and how it is grown. The children enjoyed picking their own punnets of strawberries from the farm and are looking forward to sharing them with their families later. Well done Year 1!

Y3 visit Birmingham's Progressive Synagogue
Tue 18 Jul 2023Last week, Year 3 visited Birmingham Progressive Synagogue as part of their learning in PSHE about being tolerant of different people's beliefs. They were made very welcome and enjoyed looking around and learning about more about how Jewish people pray. The children's behaviour was exceptional during their visit - well done, Year 3!
