  • Y4 DT - Musical instrument project

    Year 4 made musical instruments in their DT unit this half term. They then decorated either a drum, a guitar or a castanet with their parents. The children did a great job, using patience, resilience and teamwork to create their final product.

  • Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation

    Congratulations to everyone who received the Sacrament of Confirmation last night. May the Holy Spirit inspire you, guide you and fill you with the joy of Jesus Christ throughout your lives.

    It was a really beautiful Mass. Thank you Fr Craig and everyone else involved in making it such a wonderful celebration.

  • Year 5 Orienteering workshop with parents

    Year 5 worked with their parents this afternoon to complete an orienteering quiz. They used a map to find quiz questions about their learning during their time in Year 5. The answers gave letter clues to an anagram about one of their Geography Topics. Well done to everyone who took part!

  • Year 3 prayer time inspired by Pope Francis and St. Francis of Assisi.

    Year 3 led a prayer service for their parents and grandparents yesterday. The children chose the theme of saving our planet. They dedicated their service to St. Francis of Assisi who dedicated his life to the poor as well as caring for nature and animals. The children are eager to spread the message from Pope Francis' message in Laudato Si' of caring for our planet. Well done, Year 3

  • Poetry fun in Year Two

    Over the next few weeks, Year 2 will be writing some poetry based on The Garden Year by Sara Coleridge. πŸŒΈπŸŒ» In our lesson today, children predicted what they thought the poem would be about based on the title. They then learnt about the vocabulary in the poem before we read it tomorrow. Then worked together as a group to match the words to the correct meaning. 

  • Year 6 perform 'Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits'

    Year 6 put on a fantastic performance of 'Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits' for their leavers' play. They sang amazingly, learnt all their lines, made all the props and scenery and really wowed their audience with their spectacular show. Well done Year 6, you should feel really proud of yourselves.

  • Year 5 supporting the local community with their gardening skills

    ear 5 did a super job this morning putting their gardening skills to good use at St. Joseph's Church in Darlaston! They helped Fr. Craig and some members of the St. John Henry Newman Parish to litter pick, pull out weeds and plant some bedding plants. #livesimply

  • Y5 Prayer time for parents

    Year 5 parents joined them for their end of the day prayer time. They thought about water; how we can sometimes take it for granted and considered the work of CAFOD in helping our world communities have access to clean water. They thanked God for His wonderful creation. Well done, Year 5!

  • Y6 WWII Parent Workshop

    Yesterday, Year 6 and their parents took part in a WW2 art workshop. They made Blitz silhouette artwork and made model spitfire planes. Everyone had a lovely afternoon and the children produced some fabulous pieces of work. Well done everyone!

  • Year 5 Outdoor & Adventurous fun at Woodlands!
