First Aid workshops for Year 5 & 6
Fri 23 Jun 2023This afternoon, as part of their PSHE work, Year 5 and 6 have been learning about First Aid with the help of the Red Cross. They acted out different scenarios and found out what to do in different emergencies. Well done everyone!

Y2 Parent Workshop - The Great fire of London
Thu 22 Jun 2023Year 2 held a 'Great Fire of London' parent workshop yesterday afternoon linked to their learning in History. The children made their own model house to look like it was built in 1666. They thought carefully about what materials to use as they know houses were made from wood and caught fire very easily. Well done Year 2, your houses all look fantastic and thank you to all the parents who attended.

Y3 Parent Workshop - Dips & Dippers
Wed 21 Jun 2023Year3 children were joined by their families in school yesterday for a fantastic 'Dips and Dippers' workshop. The children followed their design plans to make a healthy snack pot with a little bit of help from the adults. Afterwards, the children enjoyed showing them all the healthy foods we are growing in our school garden. Well done, Year 3 and thank you to all the families who attended.

RHS Gardening Awards!
Wed 21 Jun 2023We are very proud to have achieved our Level 1, 2 and 3 School Gardening Awards from the Royal Horticultural Society! Not only have we received some beautiful certificates but also a fabulous calendar to help us know what to do in the garden each month, a beautiful gardening book and a £50 voucher to spend on even more plants, seeds and bulbs! Our children love spending time in the garden, getting stuck in with gardening and observing the changes in plants and trees growing.

Year 5 retreat day at St Thomas More
Tue 20 Jun 2023Year 5 took part in a Retreat Day at St Thomas More Catholic School, Willenhall today. They found out more about Pope Francis' message in his letter 'Laudato Si' and how we can show our love for God's creation by living more sustainably. They participated in a prayer service at the end of the day to reflect on the important things they had learned. Thank you to everyone at St Thomas More for leading such a lovely day for us.

Visit to school by Director of Walsall Children's Services
Tue 20 Jun 2023Yesterday we were visited by Sally Rowe, Director of Children’s Services at Walsall Council. She thoroughly enjoyed visiting our lovely school, meeting our fabulous children and looking at the children’s work.

Poetry fun with Pep the Poet

Year 5 visit to Leicester Space Centre
Fri 16 Jun 2023Year 5 had a fabulous day at Leicester Space Centre to enhance their Science learning about Space. They were able to see and interact with space craft, learn about the planets and find out what it would be like to travel to Space. The Planetarium show was thrilling and they found out lots about Space travel.

Year 6 visit to RAF Cosford
Tue 13 Jun 2023Yesterday, Year 6 had fantastic trip to RAF Cosford. They looked at different planes and missiles, enjoyed looking at tanks, learnt about the cold war and people who took part in the war – many of them local to our area. They enjoyed lunch outside in the sunshine, had a fantastic time on the playground outside and were fantastically well behaved! Well done, Year 6!

Year 1 visit to Walsall Leather Museum
Fri 09 Jun 2023Year 1 visited Walsall Leather Museum today as part of their Local History learning. At the museum, the children used 'gold blocking' to make their own leather keyring, made a leather teddy bear and looked at different leather items. Well done Year 1 for your wonderful questioning and outstanding behaviour!
