Black History Month Dance Workshops
Tue 18 Oct 2022As part of our learning to celebrate Black History Month, the children from Years 2 - 6 have enjoyed taking part in Dance workshops. The children learned that Xaymaca is the indigenous land of Jamaica, which was later inhibited by Ghanaian West Africans and Spanish. Using traditional movements to music and live percussion, they found out some background about Taino (the indigenous tribe of Jamaica) and how the migration of people influenced the dance and music in the region of the Caribbean.

Bollywood comes to St. Joseph's!
Tue 18 Oct 2022Earlier this week, the children enjoyed another dance workshop, this time in the style of Bollywood! They found a little about this style of musical theatre which is so popular in the Indian Film industry then enjoyed dancing in a telling a story using movements, hand gestures and facial expressions. The children were brilliant and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Year 1 explore patterns and colour

Year 4 Challenge themselves at Woodlands!
Fri 14 Oct 2022Yesterday, our Year 4 children spent the day at Woodlands, taking part in adventurous activities, using GPS trackers and having a go at some bush craft. They loved their day and coped brilliantly with the new challenges they encountered! What a fantastic opportunity for personal development, teamwork and building resilience!

Black History Month in Year One
Tue 11 Oct 2022October is Black History Month. Year One have been learning about Bob Marley. The children really enjoyed listening to some of his songs, particularly 'Three Little Birds'. Well done Year One!

Year 5 Geography fieldwork sketches

Mini-Vinnies putting their faith into action

Animal visitors in school!

A super start!
