  • Year 6 First Aid lessons

    Our Year 6 pupils have been learning basic First Aid this week - a fantastic opportunity to develop the skills that could one day save someone’s life. They learned how to respond in an emergency, put someone into the recovery position, deal with a choking incident, administer an epi-pen, respond to an asthma attack and administer CPR. Well done, Year Six!

  • Remembrance Day preparations

    Thank you to Mrs Kaur and all the children who helped to prepare the beautiful Remembrance displays around the school. As usual, we are supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in school - poppies will be available in school for the children in return for donations from tomorrow.

  • Reception - What's in the curiosity cube?

    In Reception class the children have been asking questions about a new object in their curiosity box. Some of the questions the children wanted to know about the Tarantula moult were ‘Is it real?’ ‘Will it move?’ ‘What do Tarantulas eat?’

  • Autumn in Nursery

    The children in Nursery enjoyed going for an autumn walk yesterday in our school grounds. They used four of their senses on their walk: sight (looking at the leaves that have fallen off the trees), hearing (listening to the wind), smell (smelling the air to see if we can smell anything) and touch (touching the leaves to see if they are cold and wet, we found conkers and described them as hard and cold). We love learning about the changing seasons!

  • Year 3 & 4 Art project - Part 4

    In the final part of their art project, Year 3 & 4 used a variety of tools to create a collaborative sculpture with artist Claire Witcomb. The children thoroughly enjoyed their experience - they told us that the project made them feel 'proud', 'excited', 'nervous' 'joyful' 'grateful' and 'brave'. Well done to all the children involved and a big 'Thank you' to Claire for inspiring them so much!

  • Year 3 & 4 Art Project - Part 3

    In the next part of their art project, Year 3 & 4 used wood and wood glue to create small sculptures of wooden animals. The children had great fun, developed new skills and were quite rightly very proud of their finished pieces.

  • Year 3 & 4 Art Project Part 1

    Year 3 & 4 have been enjoying working with local artist Claire Witcomb on a creative art project. They started off by looking at examples of wooden art sculptures and then had a go at designing and sketching their own imaginary creatures made up of the body parts of existing animals.

    Across the school, we have been celebrating Black History Month by learning about the fantastic achievements of different black people who changed History. Year Six have been finding all about Rosa Parks.
