Year 3 play French games
Fri 21 Apr 2023During their French lesson, Year 3 played a version of the traditional French parlour game, jeu de l’oie (goose game), using the activity jeu de l’oie – colour. Not only will this help the children really consolidate their learning of the numbers it will also help them revise their colour words from the previous learning. Fantastique!

Reading rewards!
Fri 21 Apr 2023Congratulations to all the children who achieved their reading target last half term! They were all awarded a golden coin for the book vending machine this morning and enjoyed choosing a book to take home and keep. Well done children!

The ducklings have names!
Fri 21 Apr 2023Reception have all been thinking hard about what to call the ducklings today - it was very tricky! Everyone in class suggested a name and then the children voted to decide.
The votes are in and have been counted. We are delighted to announce that the ducklings are called Oreo, Daisy, Rosie, Ben and Webster!

Learning about plants and trees in our school grounds
Wed 19 Apr 2023This half term Year 2 are learning all about plants in Science. In their lesson this week, the children found out about the parts of a plant and tree. They then went outside to record and observe the plants and trees in our school grounds.

Feeling like proud parents!
Tue 18 Apr 2023A lovely sight this morning, four out of the five ducklings have hatched overnight and this morning. They are happy, healthy and very noisy. One more to go!

An eggciting delivery for Reception Class!
Mon 03 Apr 2023Reception class had a very exciting delivery this afternoon! They will be carefully observing these eggs over the next few days waiting for the ducklings to hatch! Two of them have already started to pip, we may have a pair by morning!

Easter Bonnet Parade Fun!

Our Big Lent Walk for CAFOD
Fri 31 Mar 2023Today the children and staff at St. Joseph's have walked a combined 382km on our CAFOD Big Lent walk as part of the walking team from St. John Henry Newman Parish. We've also donated £100 to CAFOD. Well done everyone!

Y2 Queens Workshop
Thu 30 Mar 2023Year 2 took part in a queens workshop to end their history unit. They all became knights this morning and had the opportunity to do some jousting, designed their own crest, looked at some artefacts and took part in a knighthood ceremony. This afternoon they learnt about Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth I and did some super dancing. To end the day, they completed a big quiz to recap everything they had learnt. All the children had a fantastic day!
