PE:

Today I would like you have a go at doing some PE. Today’s Session is on Outdoor & Adventurous Activities.

Please follow the instructions on the photo (see below). You can complete this session in your own time and remember to have fun!

English:

Please watch the YouTube video of the story Handa's Surprise. (see link below)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocnRQi89nK8

Today is our last English lesson on the story Handa’s Surprise, so today I would like you to use your story maps you made of the story and have a go at writing one section of the story using your phonics to help you.

Please only choose one section of the story and not write the whole thing!

Examples of a part you could choose could be:

  1. Handa puts all the fruits in her basket – naming each fruit.
  2. Handa walking and one animal takes a piece of fruit – you can choose which animal/fruit
  3. The basket being full of tangerines
  4. Handa and Akeyo eating tangerines together

Remember to use your phonics to help you spell and write your sentences, as well as finger spaces between words, capital letters at the beginning and for their names, and a full stop at the end of each sentence.

Phonics:

Please watch the RWI video clips below about how to read Green Word Time 1.5 words and how to spell them for writing. We have placed an exercise book in your home learning packs, which will help you to write the words in so you can see your progress and hard work.

RE:

Today in RE I would like you to recap over the Christmas Story – use the Power Point below. Discuss with an adult what happened in the Christmas Story – Q. Who were the first visitors?

Today I would like you to think about how different countries celebrate Christmas in different ways and that Christmas has different meanings to everybody. Read the power point with an adult and discuss what different countries do to celebrate Christmas. What is similar or different to how we celebrate Christmas? Discuss with an adult the meanings of Christmas and what this may be to different people.

For example, some people may think of Christmas as a time to give presents, some may think of Baby Jesus being born, some may think of Christmas as a time to be with family and friends.

Have a think of what Christmas means to you and your family. Discuss with an adult what you enjoy and like about Christmas, see if your adult thinks the same.
