Virtues & Values
Summer 2 - This half term Year 2 are focusing on being attentive and discerning
Attentive: We are attentive when we listen to our calling from God to love and serve one another in all that we do. We are attentive to our experiences and can see where they will take us in our future vocations.
Discerning: We are discerning when we decide to do the right thing in the interest of the needs of others because we know the positive impact that will have on their lives.
In Spring 2, Year 3 will be learning to be Intentional & Prophetic
Intentional and Prophetic Intentional in the way they live and use the resources of the earth, guided by conscience; and prophetic in the example they set to others.
| We will help their pupils grow by being a school community which is intentional in its way of proceeding to build-up quality of life; | We will help the children decide to be prophetic in the way it offers an alternative vision of education and the human person rooted in the gospel. |
In Spring 1 Year 3 were learning to be Curious and Active
Pupils are growing to be curious about everything. We will help their pupils grow by leading pupils to be curious about the universe and all human activity, | Pupils are active in their engagement with the world, changing what they can for the better. We will help pupils to take increasing responsibility for their own learning, and by providing opportunities for them to be active in the life of the school, the Church and the wider community. |
In Autumn 2, Year 3 were focusing on being learned and wise.
| Learned: learning how God wants us to live our lives. Whether we are young or old, we should never stop learning about what God wants of us. We learn many new things each day. By reading the Bible, listening to our teachers and listening to our hearts, we learn more of what God wants. | Wise: knowing how God wants us to live our lives and putting it into practice. God is always with us and hoping that we will live our lives in the right way, following the teachings of Jesus. |
In Autumn 1, Year 3 were focusing on being eloquent and truthful.
Eloquent and truthful in what they say of themselves, the relations between people, and the world. | By developing an eloquent language which pupils can use to understand and articulate their emotions, beliefs, and questions, encouraged by the example of their teachers to be truthful in the way they represent themselves and speak about the world. |
