Gospel Assembly Link

We may not be able to be all together at the moment, but we can still pray together.

You will find this morning's liturgy by following the link below to the Video Resource Centre and looking in the 'Gospel Assemblies' section.

Monday 8th February 2021

English:

Today we are going to learn all about the festival of Chinese New Year!

I would like you to read the story on the power point below to learn more about the meaning of Chinese New Year and how it began.

When you have read the story, I would like you to draw all of the animals in the 12 years of the Chinese Zodiac. Can you label them all using your phonic knowledge to help you?

Phonics:

Please watch the RWI video clips below about how to read Green Word Time 1.7 words and how to spell them for writing. We have placed an exercise book in your home learning packs, which will help you to write the words in so you can see your progress and hard work.

Reading the words - https://schools.ruthmiskin.com/training/view/NJEBxAMN/HNrMHURM

There is no spelling video but I would like you to have a go at writing some of the words mentioned in the reading video.

Maths:

Please watch the Cbeebies video clip about number 15. (See link below)

https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m00029tw/numberblocks-series-3-fifteen

I would like you to have a go at writing the number 15, using the number rhymes - a line down and it's done (1), down the door, round the wheel, beep the horn. (5).

Then I would like you to have a go at making the number 15 in different ways, e.g. 14 + 1 = 15, 10 + 5 = 15, 8 + 7 = 15, 13 + 2 = 15 etc. Can you put this into a part-whole model to show the whole number (15) and then the two numbers/parts it can be broken into (10+5 etc.)

I would also like you to log onto Numbots (See link below) and have a go at playing in Story Mode. This is a great online game for you to practice your counting, addition and subtraction skills!

RE:

Today in RE we are going to be thinking about why water is so important in our lives, especially during a Baptism.

I would like you to watch the Baptism video again and look carefully at how the Holy Water is used by the priest to bless the baby.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zr34wmn

Think about the following questions and talk about them with an adult.

Q1. Why is water used in a Baptism?

Q2. What is special about the Holy Water?

Q3. What is the priest doing with the Holy Water?

Q4. How do we use water every day?
