This half term our topic is People Who Help Us. We have been learning all about different occupations such as a Policeman, Fireman and a Doctor. We have loved doing different activities to help us learn about what they do and how they help us

This week Nursery went on a school trip to Tanglewood at Cannock Chase. We had so much fun finding bears in the woods, making them homes and food and smelly drinks. We loved being in the woods and finding different bugs and insects that live there.

This half term we are learning about animals. This week we have been reading The Tiger Who Came to Tea. We have done lots of tiger activities like arranging shapes to make a tiger, drawing and tracing tiger stripes and we even had our own tea party and made our own jam sandwiches.

As part of encouraging healthy eating and growing at school, each class is growing a different fruit or vegetable. In Nursery we are growing peas. Before the Easter holiday, we each planted a pea and started to watched them grow. When we came back to school today, we were very excited to see how much our peas had grown !

This week our nursery rhyme focus is 12345 once I caught a fish alive. We have been doing lots of maths activities and ordered number logs, sorted pictures and objects into groups and enjoyed seeing which objects float or sink !

This half term our topic focus is all about Nursery Rhymes. This week we are learning all about Insey Winsey. We had lots of fun making water spouts outside for our Insey Winsey spiders and poured water down to ‘wash the spiders out’.

Today is safer internet today. Nursery have been reading DigiDucks big decision and learnt how we must always be kind to our friends when we are with them and online. We had lots of fun creating our own DigiDucks, drawing his friends and making our posters stand out for everyone to see !

Our EYFS bubble, Nursery and Reception, have loved playing and exploring in the snow and making a snowman and snow angels today! The teachers enjoyed themselves too !

This afternoon, our key worker children enjoyed making their own fruit pictures using paint, to support our learning on healthy eating through the story Oliver’s fruit salad ! They painted a strawberry, orange, banana and apple.

As part of showing awareness for Anti-Bullying Week, today we all enjoyed wearing odd socks to Nursery!

This week we have been reading the story We're Going on a Bear Hunt. Today Nursery went on their own Bear Hunt around school and had lots of fun doing different actions and movements for the different events in the story. We found different sized leaves to build houses for the big and small bears we found.

Today in Nursery we learnt all about Remembrance Day and why it is important. We enjoyed painting our own poppy fields and making poppy collages to help us remember all the soldiers that fought to keep us safe.

This week we have been learning all about our sense of touch as part of our 'All About Me' topic. We enjoyed feeling lots of different textures, engaging in sensory activities and learning new vocabulary.

Today we had a very special visit from the Animal Man! We got to see and learn about lots of exciting animals such as a hedgehog, snake and an owl. We also really enjoyed watching how slowly the tortoise moved.

In RE, Nursery we have been learning all about The Creation Story. We went on a Creation Walk to look at all the wonderful things God has made
Week Beginning 7th September 2020
During our first week at Nursery, we enjoyed getting to know our new classroom indoors and outdoors, meeting our teachers, Miss Windsor and Mrs Perks and making lots new friends.
