Gospel Assembly Link

We may not be able to be all together at the moment, but we can still pray together.

You will find this morning's liturgy by following the link below to the Video Resource Centre and looking in the 'Gospel Assemblies' section.

Monday 18th January 2021

English:

Please watch the YouTube video of the story Handa's Surprise. (see link below)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocnRQi89nK8

I would like you to have a go at making a basket of fruit that you like to eat. Think of the fruits from the story, are there any fruits in the story you like to eat? Are there any different fruits that were not in the story that you enjoy?

You can do this by simply drawing it, cutting out pictures, or using craft/junk modelling. Could you label the fruits you have added in your basket?

Phonics:

Please watch the RWI video clips below about how to read Green Word Time 1.4 words and how to spell them for writing. We have placed an exercise book in your home learning packs, which will help you to write the words in so you can see your progress and hard work.

Maths:

Today we are going to be recapping over addition of numbers to 10 by using part-whole models.

I would like you to work through the power point attached below. Make sure you have a go at using the numicon shapes to help you work out the missing answer.

Then I would like you to draw 4 part-whole models using numbers which add together to make 10. For example, 5 + 5, 7 + 3, 8 + 2 etc.

How many ways can you think of to make 10? Can you see the pattern in the numbers when you add numbers to make 10?

RE:

Today in RE I would like you to think about our new school values and virtues for this half term – Grateful and Generous.

I would like you think about and discuss with an adult how you can be grateful to others, your family, friends etc. and how you can be generous to others in your home.

Could you show how grateful you are by saying please and thank you every day?

Can you show you are grateful by looking after your things and taking care of your toys?

Could you show how generous you are by sharing what you have with others in your homes?

Can you show you are generous by thinking of ways you can help others when you are able to go out safely again?

Maybe you can draw pictures to show how you are grateful and generous to help remind you of our virtues over the course of this half term.
