  • Year 6 Residential Visit to Whitemoor Lakes

Thu 19 May 2022 Mrs Hannett

Year 6 have had an AMAZING time at Whitemoor Lakes! The rooms and facilities were fantastic. The children enjoyed three fantastic days taking part in a wide range of activities -  climbing, caving, abseiling, zip wire, canoeing, circus skillls, archery, team games, canoeing, raft building and even managed to fit in a disco and a camp fire!

The children were visited by a member of Archery GB , who was so impressed with their archery skills, she presented them with a special wheelie bin archery kit to take back to school!

We are very proud of our Year 6 children who showed determination, resilience and a willingness to give everything a go. We are also delighted that their excellent manners and behaviour were commented on by many of the centre staff. Well done, Year Six!

  • We are beaming with pride! Well done, Year 6.

Fri 13 May 2022 Mrs Hannett

This week, children in Year Six classes around the country took their SATs tests - the first Year 6 pupils to do so in three years! Our Year Six pupils have worked incredibly hard throughout the whole school year and we couldn’t be more proud of how well they dealt with the challenges of SATs week! After two years of disrupted learning, they showed real resilience, maturity and strength of character; arriving at school each day smiling, despite their nerves. Each and every one of them gave it their all and no-one can ask for more than that! Well done Year 6, you are a credit to St. Joseph’s school and to your families.

Yesterday, they enjoyed a well deserved pizza, pyjama and movie afternoon.

  • Nursery learning fun!

Fri 13 May 2022 Mrs Hannett

Our Nursery children have been very busy this week. In their post office role play area they have been serving customers, writing letters and posting them in the post box. They have enjoyed drawing spider webs like the busy spider in the book they have been reading. In maths, they have been carefully pouring out cups of water and discussing which cup holds more or less than the other. They love reading for pleasure , working as a team to build, carefully watching their caterpillars to see if they are growing, using their funky fingers to make beautiful long caterpillars and making their own 2D shapes with pipe cleaners. Well done children!
