Year 6 listen to a Holocaust Survivor
Thu 26 Jan 2023Tomorrow is Holocaust Memorial Day. As Year 6 will be learning about World War II in their History lessons in the summer term, they participated in a live online presentation given by a Holocaust Survivor. The children were given a first hand account, about how difficult life was like, living as a Jewish family in Nazi occupied Holland. They listened and discussed what they had found out with great empathy and maturity; well done Year 6.

Reception Maths fun!
Thu 26 Jan 2023In Reception, the children have been learning to add by combining amounts this week. They played a game outside with beanbags and had to work out their total score. Inside, they used plates and added their counters altogether. Some of them also had a go at writing their own number sentences.

Year 1 learn about invertebrates
Thu 26 Jan 2023In Science this afternoon, Year 1 were learning all about invertebrates. They were lucky enough to be able to meet some invertebrates and even hold some. They talked about insects and crustaceans.

Y2 Programming the Beebots
Thu 19 Jan 2023Year 2 used the BeeBots in their computing lesson today to learn all about programming. In groups, they gave the BeeBots a set of instructions using directional language and experimented with the sequence and order of them. They then discussed how to debug the BeeBots. They had a great time learning!

Year 4 Computer research in RE
Wed 11 Jan 2023Year 4 have been researching the religious lives and inspiration of either: Pope John Paul II, Mother Teresa or St Francis of Assisi. The children worked very hard searching for the most accurate facts. Well done, Year 4

Author visit to Year 1 & 2
Wed 11 Jan 2023Author Kathy Tallentire visited our Year 1 and Year 2 classes last week. She read her book, 'The Whisker Twitchers' to the class and talked about the process she goes through of writing books.
She spoke to the class about how they could change the characters in the story to make it their own. The children came up with some amazing ideas about what changes they could make.
To finish the session, Kathy read another one of her books, 'Rescue Me', which the children thoroughly enjoyed. The children were all delighted when they were given their own copy of 'The Whisker Twitchers' to take home!

Rocket building inn Reception!
Fri 06 Jan 2023Reception class have been listening to the story 'Whatever Next!' this week. They have enjoyed making their own rockets using the building blocks outside.
